I think they botched two key scenes this season: Levi's kick and Dina's farewell to Grisha. In the first one, just as Eren says the key doesn't work, Levi shoves him immediately without any warning or words and kicks the door. (It's glorious in the manga) The second one: as Dina is saying his promise, making eye contact to Grisha AND smiling to him she is injected and kicked. That's why his titan is "smiling".

Most people are confusing Ymir Fritz to our Ymir. They are two different people. Ymir Fritz is the original Founding Titan who was the first ever titan. Her soul split in to 9 different titans and we have seen 8 of them so far(Attack Titan, Jaws, Cart, Beast, Armored, Colossal, the founding and the female. The ninth titan will be revealed later at some point. Our Ymir was an orphan girl who taken by a cult to be their queen and they named her after the original Ymir Fritz
