These girls performed on Taiwan's Double Tenth Ceremony and *rocked* Taiwanese Society tremendously. School bands in Taiwan would definitely learn from their ways and improve, while teachers and parents were criticized for not giving teenagers enough time for band practice such as KTHS, since most academic performance were deemed much more important. All in all, these girls brought not only a wonderful show to Taiwan, but also a storm of cultural revolution. Good job!
I applaud her for trying. Now we know why it takes a lot of practice and talent to be in this band.

I wish foreign watchers recognize that Tachibana’s students are like professional with splendid behavior as well in spite of high schoolers. 楽器を動きながら演奏するってとても難しいと思います。特にホルンなんて、じっとしていても演奏するのが難しいのに、天晴れ。 これからも頑張ってください。

When I grew up in the US in the 70's we still had an emphasis on music and art in our classrooms. Todays Japan has not only continued this tradition of artistic expression but has taken it too a Very Impressive level that instill many important academic with music and art. My Extreme admiration too Teachers,Staff,Family and the Students. Absolutely Superb Work.

Absolutely loved the video, a small but great insight into the band on the long hours they do to get to the perfection we all witness. I am always impressed with guests who go and spend time trying to play the instruments and realise how hard it is from the start and then to discover once you can do that, it doesn’t stop there, you have to learn the moves and then( we have not finished yet 😂),then put them all together into the finished routine 🥵. I too would appreciate translation into English language if at all possible. Arigato

Roger, Have you ever tried the caption auto-translator or the Google Translator? I have several times, but the results can be very amusing but incorrect. My wife is Greek and I often try the Google Translator for Greek but it does not work. I have even copy and pasted translations I wrote English to Greek and back to English and the result is not the same as my original copy. I like to listen to O-VILS' radio shows but the writing on the screen can't be copied for translation. I assume a lot of the broadcasts are ad-lib so there isn't time to give us translations. I'd like to learn Japanese, but at almost 80 years old it is too hard.

@@alancoldicott391 You and me both mate I am 74 and it is a struggle But thanks for your help I will keep trying, after all it is not their fault we can not converse in there native tongue. Translation does work well on the twitter accounts. I have a spent a couple of holidays in Paros, tell your wife. Lovely little island 👍

@@Dodger0103 Roger, if you don't know it, there is a little icon like writing on the right under the screen. if you click on that it will tell you if caption auto-translations are available for that clip and a red line will show underneath it. If there are, go to the gear settings icon on the right and scroll down to the language you want to read. click on that and "Hey Presto" you've got it, but the things they say seem to be very weird sometimes and I mean no offense to the speaker who I assume said something else. Be aware though that the translation only works for the clip you are viewing and you have to go through the procedure every time you go to another clip.

I thought this video was so much fun. I didn't know the seniors teased the new players learning how to play instruments. It was so funny but wonderful when the beginners were applauded when they made sounds come out, but they must have a real sense of achievement when they do learn to play correctly. I was puzzled when the senior asked the section after the Sousaphones to play what sounded to me that she said "Cornetto" and I went to the translator to see if in Japanese you call Trumpets Cornettoes. The girls were playing what we call Trumpets in English but there are other similar instruments which you do not play in Japanese Bands and we call them Cornets. They are like short trumpets and play higher notes. We also have Bugles like cornets but without valves and when I was a child learning to play brass, I tried to play a Bugle, but the pressure needed was too much for me and it knocked me out. The next thing I knew I was laying on a stretcher. I had been training on bigger instruments. I thank the person who made this video I really enjoyed it.

Why no English subs?---there is a whole world out there that would love to understand your video............... Otherwise----great to see behind-the-scenes vids like this. All of these girls deserve endless respect !! ---(They would kick me out after day 1,in exasperation !-)------but their dedication to each other is wonderful to see. There is no memory more thrilling than just happening to be out and about in Kyoto when you hear,in the distance, these fabulous girls coming along !-----no question: the best such band in the world !
LOVE this BAND! And I really enjoyed watching this vid. It is great to watch new members step up into leadership positions. Can someone tell me the name of the band member at 3:08? Thanks!
FunFacts : If you listen closely to many KT performances you'll almost always hear someone in the audience shouting "Bravo". The guy's name is Dr.Rizzo Coniglieri. That's me...the "Bravo Guy"😉
