Thanks for posting. The number 9 for Seiko that day is my father - Billy Semple and it was a stonewall penalty! I will make sure my Dad gets to see this. Cheers.

Great! Semple is important first team player of Seiko.
McCrory was one of my favorite player in those days. His never-say-die spirit will be always in my memory. You should be proud of being his son.

@polobiu my father is back living in Scotland, but I live in Hong Kong once more. He still comes out to visit HK at least once a year and should be back here near the end of the year. It really is a shame HK football has declined so much.

How are you and your father doing? So did you grow up in HK? This match took place before I was born. I am fascinated to learn that once upon a time, HK soccer was decent. Unfortunately, HK culture doesn't support soccer/football development or Sports' development in general. HK people care only about economic efficiency. So infrastructures for sports is extremely limited. All space is used for developing commercial high rises. Extremely few schools have their own soccer filed. Most professions clubs do not even have their own fields. Only South China has their own filed. Overwhelming majority of HK parents also do not encourage their kids to pursue sports. There are many factors that go into stifling the development of soccer or football in HK...

@@edmundwong5571 I'm glad to say we are both doing well. My Dad is still back in Scotland and we are hoping to go back to visit him when quarantine restrictions from the UK are eased. I know he is desperate to come back out to visit too. For your question we lived here in Hong Kong until soon after my Dad retired playing football. We all moved back to Scotland in 1986, and then i moved back here in 2004. It's such a shame Hong Kong football is the way it is given how incredible it used to be!

Thank you for posting this. I was actually at this match and had many friends playing in it. I'm very sad to report that the big Seiko Number 17Ian McWilliams, who scored their second, and also the winning goal died a few years ago.
When will we see HK football as good as this again? Probably never......
