@@lrod9393 Zydeco music was born in Frenchtown, 5th ward, Houston, not Louisiana. Nothing resembling what we know as zydeco existed in Louisiana before the merging of rural texas blues, urban houston RnB, and louisiana lala music in Houston's Frenchtown which gave birth to Zydeco. The spelling and term used to refer to a music genre even originated in Houston. Louisiana lala music =/= Zydeco music. It just partially influenced it. Now it would be accurate to say that people FROM louisiana started zydeco for the most part after moving to Texas and being influenced by the RnB and blues here. But, even then some non-louisianaian people in H-town had an influence on it as well. See Lightnin Hopkin's "Zolo go". Primary sources, first hand testimonials, and academics all confirm this.
