JetSuit Response Force (J-RF) exercise. A demonstration of the surprise speed and execution possible with the Jet Suit.
Foot patrol with only 30kg (66lbs) Jet Suit, up to dead ground launch point.
Both men advance rapidly over any terrain or obstacles using cover and dead ground.
1st man uses helmet steered weapon to provide cover during final advance to target with primary protection provided by 1st man who is now landed with eyes on target.
Assault is possible with only seconds on target before immediate self-ExFiltration.
The next level of realism would see minimum of a 4 man patrol working in buddy pairs.

It looks like the gun points wherever the operator is looking. The weapon is calibrated with the operator’s straight-forward gaze and turning the head will turn the gun. Firing is probably done through a trigger in the gloves. It seems like a weird system that would probably miss a lot since the operator has to pay attention to their own velocity in order to shoot accurately.

An interesting idea, but anyone using these jetpacks are going to be making a LOT of noise when flying around, which is not a good thing if your goal is to sneak up on an opponent. And because you'll need to use those hand-thrusters to maneuver around, you won't be able to shoot back at anyone firing at you from the ground, leaving you all but defenseless. Lastly, a typical soldier carries anywhere to 60 to 100 pounds of equipment in the field; adding a 66 pound jetpack not only adds even more weight, which will tire them even more quickly. This jetpack is an interesting idea, but I think there are a lot of problems to work out before it's anywhere near combat ready.

drawbacks: flight time, noise level, one round to arm fall out of sky, one round through fuel tank (front or back) and its a fireball. Recommend exo-skeleton strap into frame, head tracker or some form of flight computer to allow for hands to hold weapon(s) perhaps a parachute from altitude for silent insertion

People keep saying "HuRr DuRr EnGiNeS lOuD", like jets, helicopters and cars are absolutely quiet. What it is deffinitely useful at, are very fast traversial over difficult terrain without needing special landing zones, quick reposition of people, getting over lakes and rivers fast without boats and bridges, potentially even getting quick to other vehicles like APCs and helicopters without them needing to get directly into the hazardous zones. There ARE useful aplications for these for military, police, firefighters, medical crews, etc, tho it's very specific aplication.

You can already land fast and start moving from a helicopter. These are literally just individual helicopters but without all the features that make helicopters better. Fly in 50 of these as drones dropping 2 military dogs each. Then a squad lands and follows them in. Now you tell me how a helicopter could do the same job without a drop area in a miles distance.

A mission set this technology would actually be useful in is High Rise Exfil. This could add a whole new layer of tactics to building and compound raids. Being able to quickly land on the top of a structure without loitering like a helicopter would be invaluable. This is potentially an answer to MANPADS becoming more ubiquitous on the battlefield. This could also have SWAT implications for large cities. EDIT: I'm also very curious as to how well this interfaces with paratroopers. Would this be capable of safely arresting an entire C-130 worth of boots? I wonder how much time that could shave off the 82nd's "anywhere in 18 hours" claim, with the caveat that all the logistics and training are already in place.

THIS is what I thought we would have when I was a kid 40 years ago. I think another GREAT concept would be a sniper, not using the jets for the way in....but for the way out. YES lugging that gear into a situation where you are trying to be stealthy and not get discovered, BUT once the mission is complete having the sniper team be able to exit the area and put lots of ground between them and the enemy, I think it could work.

If you saw 20 troops coming in like that it’d definitely be a brown trouser situation.

No, anyone with an ounce of actual training could pick those idiots out of the air in a couple of seconds!! The noise being the biggest giveaway to where they are. This is a really really stupid idea!!

Would be handy in Ukraine right now. Even at this stage of development, they would be great for recon in forested or urban areas.

This is indeed an impressive capability! That said, perhaps a combined arms approach might be o ne way to go with this where one could say employ e-bikes (and especially cargo e-bikes) as well as tactical UAVs to work in close coordination with the jet packs. A e-bike can go most anywhere and be pushed over places it can't be ridden. And a cargo e-bike can carry heavy weapons, ammo, and (in this case) extra fuel to refill the jet packs. e.g. see kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGK2fJh8hK53qpo kzbin.info/www/bejne/jabFopuMiNSnpKM The e-bike would be the mobile bases of operation which then could support the jet packs as well as UAVs to make a very mobile and light force with a lot of punch given the cargo e-bikes could carry heavy weapons such as mortars and automatic grenade launchers and heavy machine guns. And the e-bikes themselves can easily be carried by larger vehicles such as truck, Humvee, or whatever. So maybe taking a system of system approach might be the best way to integrate jet packs into existing force structures by creating specials units optimized to support jetpack operation.

Nothing screams tactical like being able to expose your body to a hail of bullets in mere seconds ... and have a loud jet engine noise alert your enemies to look for the "pop-up target" 🎯

I could imagine this thing to be used by paramedics if they have to get to someone quickly and the terrain is hardly reachable. Definetly NOT for combat.
