The grave is special in this recording. Most I’ve heard take a solemn, soft approach to it, and this recording brings out the extremely intense dissonances with a very strong, harsh, almost gritty texture and it’s almost as if you passed and are being exposed to the pits of hell before ascending to meet Jesus Christ. You're right! The Adagio is in the relative minor key of C major, which is A minor. But it ends in C major.

It is but isn’t. This is only a section of a larger piece which is in C major but this section the adagio is in the relative minor
