You have chosen the right voices to bring out the theme clearly in its various modes. I loved this performance. It is a joy to listen to you playing, Daniel. You have the ability to execute each note clearly, and your interpretation is great. I am looking forward to hearing you play further pieces. Thank you, so much, for sharing your love for music, particularly that associated with the organ. One other point. Thanks to KZbin, it is incredibly encouraging to see and hear so many young people who have made the Queen of Instruments their own, and who are willing to encourage others not only to enjoy the instrument’s magnificent sounds and versatility, but come to appreciate and love organ music from all ages, and possibly be encouraged to learn to play.

I know I'm over 7 years late in commenting! However, a fine performance of one of my earliest memories of JSB's organ music (I first heard this piece in the mid 1970's) As the last commenter said, a faster tempo than I remember - though I've never seen the score! Best wishes.

Love your interpretation of Bach!! You have such a command and such a presence when you play his works!! I can see the Master had a great influence on your style of playing! Love your pedal work in this piece! I really believe the Lord has truly gifted you to be the voice of the great Master!! May the Lord richly bless you and continue to help you grow more deeply in Him and in the talents He has given you! I enjoy each piece you present!! I hope that you will tape the concert you will be doing and post it!! God bless you, Daniel! My heart is always inspired by listening to your great skills!!

Vincent Lorandos, I totally agree, he's serious, and humble deportment makes you want to listen, watch, and enjoy. God Bless him...where does he live, never heard of him? Curious!

Dear Chesterbarnes1--Daniel is an organist in Denmark. He lives around the Copenhaugen area. He just bought a new home there as he was recently married! I just learned of him recently from Facebook as I saw his postings there and began to listen to them!! He is just a gifted and very humble servant of the Lord!! He hopefully is going to be coming to the US on a tour sometime next year, and I am trying to help him find supporters to help bring him here. If you know of any churches in your area that would be willing to allow Daniel to play there, then please forward them to his attention on his website: www.danielbruun.dk. You can also hear his wonderful French recording of French composers on his album that is posted there and on Spotify.

I'm a string player, so maybe my views on phrasing are irrelevant. You either change the direction of the bow or you don't. You can't help being decisive about phrasing. On the organ, where you have no variation of either loudness or timbre from note to note, about the only expressive resource you have is articulation. Even that gets lost in a cathedral acoustic. But where acoustic does have some clarity, clear, definite and consistent phrasing surely comes into its own. I think this piece wants thorough rethinking.
