What an excellent rendition this is...very intriguing instrument used here, with it's rich, bassy tone and additional strings, it has the ability to play songs beyond the range of a normal guitar....

Maestro, your new guitar sounds great. Not to mention it plays great. Thank you for the wonderful Christmas gift.

Sounds like the whole guitar is tuned down a full tone, to low D....and it's quite lightly strung, to judge by the very wavy amplitude-signature. Dark and imposing. MORE!

What a wonderful way to wake up on Christmas morning! I've never heard better tone and articulation on the music of J.S. Bach than from Moran Wasser's hands on his 11 string guitar. :-)

Thanks for playing it in its original key (not that there is anything wrong with D major, it's just commonly played). And btw, first time I saw fanned frets on a classical guitar

Not easy to find guitar players not imitating Segovia when playing this piece: D major, additional bass notes. Thank you for this novel, faithful transcription.

I play 10 string guitar and play the whole BWV 1007 from the cello score in G. Although I focus on composition and improvisation I might record it one time. I truly feel that the darker sound suits well to the character of the suite and the 6 string version in D sounds to light for me, a bit semi banjo sound. @@patcartier8171

Beautifully played! What is that instrument? It looks a lot like a guitar, but also a lot like a lute.... so, I'm guessing it's a glute? ;)

When I was 15, I transcribed this to a regular 6 string guitar. It's possible to play this in CADGBE (Everything standard except low E is tuned 2 full steps below to low C). I wish I made a decent video of me playing this while I still could, before hurting my hands to the point where I can't play anymore. I want to make a tab soon, once my hands feel better.

Click, click, click. Horrible sound production. No wonder his recordings are always flooded with plugin reverbs to create the illusion of a grand sound. It doesn't exist, if live.
@conallmckayguitar16 күн бұрын
It is highly unlikely he added any reverb to his recording, or to any other of his extended range guitar recordings. All the many extended range guitars I have played are already so resonant (because of the sympathetic vibration of the added basses) that adding extra artificial reverb would be overkill. I do agree there is some nail noise audible though. I would imagine it will take time for Wasser or his sound engineer to find the optimal microphone position (and other factors) for recording his new guitar.
