If you watch the Bluesette Laurel Harned performs in another video, then come here (as I did), you realize that this young talent has lots of superb runway ahead of her. Obviously she's technically astounding, but she's also sensitive, has a sense of tempo and a mature delicacy of play that belies her age. I'm reminded of Ana Vidovic's arc: from mad dashes of virtuosity that literally raised John Williams' already impossibly high bar, to the later soulful incarnation that infuses every piece with the emotion of a full life. For now, bravissima, Laurel! May your sensitivity unfold to the fullest and bring us more marvels of interpretation. Special thanks to GSI for bringing us such talent.

It is hard to wrap around your head that she is just a teenager. Is she performs like this in 2024, can you imagine her 10 years from now? And yet, she will still be under age 30! That is crazy! As I have sought out and watched many videos of Laurel's playing I have noticed that in some she is wearing a brace on her right forearm/elbow. I hope there is no injury or problem there! As you requested, Laurel, I have both liked and subscribed! Thank you GSI for your dedication to exquisite recording practices. That sealed the subscription right there!

Not at all !! We classical guitarists have devised different ways of keeping the front sharp edge of the guitar digging into the middle of the forearm which without it tends to leave a deep red line in the skin which hurts a bit and can be fatiguing to the arm.. They now sell these stretchy sleeves but I make my own from old Walkman type arm bands stuffed with a foam rubber pad.. Nice of you to show your concern, though... It's not a brace..She's fine...
