I think that women like Maria who do not have to force themselves into vibrato just to sing are the real talent and define what a perfect voice is. (I know this is very bad run-on sentence, but it's late and I'm too tired to correct it). :-)

@Voracious Reader Her vibrato is not of a contrived nature. You should listen to her singing as per the Netherlands Bach Society performances. Vibrato is so 19th Century and doesn't belong in Baroque works and that includes instrumental wise

Don't just focus onto the soprano. She is great, sure! Listen again and pay attention to the flute for she plays wonderfully musical also. After that, listen again, and pay attention to the rest of the players. They really understand...

For my wife and I, Maria Keohane has been our favorite soprano since we heard her perform in Auckland NZ in about 2000. Her voice is clear and always superbly musical, from light and delicate to rich and powerful. She uses vibrato only lightly, to accent the music. A Keohane performance is always a welcome pleasure. A gift from Sweden.
