Finally a not too speedy execution! I'm able to appreciate every single note of Bach and this is crucial

A fine balance and coordination between two very fine musicians. Well engineered and played in a beautiful space that looks also acoustically lively.

This is so well performed. A challenging slow andante, but it really works very well. Like two singers who make every word and sentence clear and understandable. Thank you both!!

C'est magnifique ! Du grand art ! Une sonorité chaude, pénétrante de la flûte, une précision remarquable, un phrasé rigoureux qui se permet pourtant plein de liberté entre le continuo et la flûte... Woa ! C'est du lourd, j'adore ! Encore !

Quite different from a modern flute, the hollow tone of this instrument is touching. I do love the duo's excellent and delicate performance of this flute masterpiece by great Bach.

The best performance I've heard of this Sonata! Bravissimi for both of you! I liked it all - the sensible choice of tempo for each mov., the fine articulation, the sensitive slowing bit at the right places, the wonderful realization of the trills, the execution of the arpeggi in the 2nd mov., but most of all - the eye connection and the mutual hearing of each other - the flutist and the harpsichordist. Thank you both for this most enjoyable upload!

So good! Why is it that performances by fine musicians like these are nearly always more interesting to listen to than those by big name performers? Am I the only one who notices this?

yep, Galway can make anything ugly

Because big name performers are not really, “musicians” in the sense that classically trained performers are. They don’t understand their material beyond the level of plain narration or how it makes them, “feel”. The raw technical prowess is lost on them. That’s not to say there’s anything wrong with enjoying them and their art, modern music is successful for a reason, but they do not understand music the way that these people HAVE to in order to even read the music and understand each part of the performance down to the bone. And we’ve just kinda gotten used to people ripping each other off for their next number 1 hit rather than having the know-how to do something wholly unique like this.

Yeah Ms. Garcia is definitely overqualified! Best traverso interpretation I've ever heard!

La sonate entière, c'est... L'EXCELLENCE. MERCI ! Isidore Désiré INDIGO

Hello beautiful version ❤, what model of flute is it? What is the name of the constructor? 👏👏👏👏
@euledj79 Жыл бұрын
surely one of the best recordings of this sonata! Maybe the flute-tone needs a bit more balls in the high register but I guess thats a problem with all ebony-Palancas?
