I hope this series of recitals stimulates interest in churches that have organ performances.

I like the insertion of the registrations chosen by the organist! Thanks, NRW

In Yorubaland West Africa the words improvisation and composition are used interchangeably. Presumably, this is because a musician wants the ability to instantly create composition quality music. Hopefully, it can also be because improvisation ability precedes composition, as memorization of compositons supercedes improvisation, otherwise we are simply destroying whatever we create.

A superb performance of a Bach treasure basket. I am thrilled.
661 is one of my favorite pieces, and this might be the best reading of it I've heard.

On this organ, Bach sounds much deeper and more ground-toned than on many other baroque organs. That makes it much more enjoyable. Of course it is played very well by this organist.

I really appreciate the variety of palette offered - obviously well planned and wonderfully executed.

The little organ that can! Nice to be playing on an old friend. I can tell you intimately understand this instrument. Your performances were enlightening and interesting. My sense of the acoustic is that this organ is a moderately loud instrument. And your choices of registration were well worked out. The Preludes and Fugues were well paced and expertly registered. The little Chorals are where Bach shines as a fully mature musician, even though a few of these are very early Bach! I hope you are keeping a good recording for release. These are as good as many of my existing Organ sets. A Karosi Label perhaps? THanks for your learned performance and for sharing Balint. Keep them coming!

That is a wonderful organ and you know exactly what to do with it. I suspect J. S. Bach's registrations might not have been quite as colorful as yours, but I also suspect that if Bach had heard your registrations he might have decided to do things differently.

An interesting comment. On what do you base these remarks?
@karlrovey4 жыл бұрын
Seeing as Bach had a reputation for breaking the registration "rules" in ways that made organists and builders cringe until they heard the results, I somehow doubt that Bach's registrations wouldn't be as colorful.

What if we tune a rock band during European orchestras tune to A4 = 444Hz?

Anybody know what stops he is playing at 24:29? Sounds like a 8' and 4' Principle but I am very intrigued with the tone.

It looks like 8' Gedact and 4' Principal but there is something about it's tone that I can't find the words for.

Excellent playing. I differ on your interpretation of Herr Christ, der ein’ge Gottes in that I like to play the repeat line on a different manual before returning to the initial manual for the remainder of he piece so as to offer some contrast. I would like to see your playing of the 4 concertos (if you've done them on youtube I'll find them - somewhere ;-D).

Dear Balint! I am a true admirer of your organ playing. But please allow me a critical remark: I was a bit disappointed listening to the d minor Canzona since I somehow expected that you would be the one finally playing the piece with Preller's agréments. I am sure that these ornaments reflect perfectly what Bach has been teaching to his students. Same thing for the Passacaglia BWV 582 where we have only the first 48 bars ornamented. I strongly beliefe that this is the way Bach wanted his music to be performed (see the copy of d'Angleberts ornament table at the beginning of WF Bach's Book). For me as a non organ player I only see my chance in making the public familiar with Bach's performing style of his keyboard music via my own transcriptions for chamber ensemble which in a way, is a bit sad. Please, go for it!
