I started playing when I was 7 in 1977. I saw Ynwie front row when I was 13. I was right in front of him; the only girl in the audience! He threw me a pick. Great cover! It's great seeing so many female guitarists get respect. Back in the day we all played by ear. KZbin has done wonders for guitarists of all ages. Btw- that guitar looks like my first Ibanez from 1983-- Roadstar II, I was 12 and had a Bill Lawrence L500 pickup installed in the neck position. I chose not to go pro. I suffered major spinal injury 20 years ago, and Vai and Vernon dedicated the Experience Hendrix 2010 your to me. While visiting with them, I got to meet Billy Cox, which was so cool, because I played in a Hendrix/ Zep cover band (plus originals) from age 16-22. Keep going. Work on your own style. It took me years: Vernon would ask me for demos (even tho I chose visual arts as my business; I started a commercial photography portrait and live rock n roll business in NYC when I was 19)... I had a hybrid rockabilly, Pagey, Gilmour-esque style, until my late 20s... THAT'S when I found my own style. After playing all around the country and on the radio, etc... and in NYC, of course. It was so cool when Steve, Vernon, and Jason Becker all got in touch with me after they heard a 9 minute piece (i played all the instruments, except drums: I programmed them step by step due to spinal issues). My point: go for it. Don't just cover things like this with no emotion. I would highly suggest playing this slowly and adding YOUR emotion, your thoughts and feelings to the playing. It might seem like a JS Bach's playing doesn't lend itself to that kind of thing: seeing Yngwie playing two feet away from me when he was in his early 20s proved emotion can be added to these pieces. And my bro , Jason Becker, was the KING of adding emotion to EVERY note he played. Every note. Good luck. And never stop playing!! And don't EVER dress in clothes you don't feel comfortable in-- guys will try to force you to in order to get into mags (I know, i shot for guitar world, etc. I never ever did that). Be you. And you'll go far! Thank you for sharing. You inspired me and made me remember my childhood and the thousands of hours I played before my spine injury. Music can get you through anything life throws at you. Beautiful guitar. Like I said, it totally reminds me of my first Ibanez. Beautiful color scheme!

This girl has the most amazing talent. Toccatta is one of the most difficult pieces to play, even on a pipe organ, which is what it was written for. I seem to remember Emerson Lake and Palmer recording this in the late 60s. If they heard this rendition they would chuck in their careers. Young lady, I salute you talent.

The purpose of Classical Music is to be posh like British mannerisms the whole tea and crumpets thing with phrases like "I am not amused" with posh accents like HRH King Charles III and Queen Elizabeth II as they are formal and don't use slang and aren't casual. Being stiff upper lip and formal being refined and classy and culturally sophisticated

Heavy metal (for what us modern people would deem as "heavy metal", the term predates what is now considered "metal") began when Black Sabbath transcribed a simplified and shortened version of Romantic era composer Gustaf Holst's composition "Mars the Bringer of War" on modern "heavy metal" instruments, creating their debut song "Black Sabbath"- all in an effort to find a newer, darker, more edgy sound than what was typical of even the heavier side of 70's blues rock. And while not even Black Sabbath totally ditched their blues influences after that, they, as well as other bands at the time, and bands that would form a decade later (like Metallica and Megadeth) would write music more based on the newer "classical revival" (even though technically the romantic era is different from the classical era) style, which was especially apparent in this new genre's tonal, rhythmic, and melodic differences compared to earlier blues-based rock. @@tylergarten4668 How was I wrong? I never stated what metal was. I know that Black Sabbath is considered the first metal band but, just because they took a piece of classical music and translated it to their 3 piece band does not make Heavy Metal a descendant of classical music. I'm also a musician and know all about progressions and modes. Just because I decide to use some classical pieces to form a new piece of music doesn't make my style a modern classical progression. If anything, to me it looks like metal musicians have an inferiority complex and have to tout classical music to try to justify themselves as musicians. That's why I asked why cannot metal just stand on it's own as a form of music.

Classical music, all of music history is in everything now. Beethoven and Bach were considered the hard rock dudes of their time. Heavy metal, black metal, hard rock, rap etc it’s all derived from classical. Music keeps evolving. Music- balance, harmony, rhythm, it’s all universal, keeps our planets rotating, waters draining…..what flows through me flows through you. Upside down stream is a headlight beam gazing curious, perplexingly satisfies a glowing soul.
