My Father, a 90 year old retired Lutheran Pastor, reminded me of German Lutheran Pastor and Hymnist Martin Rinkart's sacrifices during the Thirty Years' War and the severe Bubonic Plague of 1637. In spite of the hardships of his career, Pastor Rinkart continued to have a thankful reverence for God. His prayer, "Nun danket alle Gott", is the most famous of his hymns. During this COVID-19 pandemic, your performance of "Now Thank We All Our God" is an important reminder that we should be thankful of the blessings God has bestowed upon mankind.

Love this piece. Heard Virgil play it live in concert. You do it justice and represent 3:06 3:07 3:10 his intentions as a composer. Thank you. ❤

Wonderful playing and fearless, aggressive registration - the organist is certainly not afraid of the instrument! I would love to hear this in person.

A lot of folks used to criticize Virgil because he didn’t stick to the narrow academic approach to the organ. I wager though he is better remembered than most of the stuffy shirts.
