Any different between j35 cam and j37 cam
@PowerRevRacing3 жыл бұрын
There are tons of differnet J series cams. To be able to answer that question best, you need to say more specific engine codes. Like J35A8 cam for example.

I hope it's not too much to ask a couple questions. In regards to a j32 engine, what are the specs on an a3's cam? Lastly concerning all J series engines, what motor came with the most extreme cam profile?

If I had a J35Y2, and I wanted more top end power and a more aggressive vtec crossover, what camshaft from which engine code should I use? Is there an aftermarket camshaft that would do better instead?

Where can I get a plug n play Tune for my J35?
@PowerRevRacing3 жыл бұрын
Not sure i can answer that. But in terms of tuning it all boils down to what ecu you have. Depending on the year of your vehicle will determine which tuning methods are available.

Which engine is better the 32 or 35?
@matthewstorm51882 жыл бұрын
It depends on how you want to look at it. Considering whole engines, I personally would rather have a J35A8 than a J32A2. But both of these engines have their strengths and weaknesses. First and foremost, these is certainly an advantage to having 3.5 liters rather than 3.2. More cubes means more torque. And if you can get the 3.5 to rev, you will also have more power. On the other hand, the 3.2 has a nice, short stroke and a GREAT rod ratio (1.9:1). This means it will rev REALLY nicely. And wear will be lower. On the other hand, the 3.5 has a still good rod ratio of 1.7:1. It’s not as good as the 3.2. But it’s still better than all but a few four cylinder Honda engines. Heads are another matter. Single port heads like the J35A8 will NEVER be as good as individual port heads like the J32A2. Not only are they more restrictive to flow. But you can’t have a properly tuned exhaust when the runners are THAT short. The bottom line is that single port heads like the J35A8 are a concession made in the name of cost and emissions. And although it is not a BAD head, the J32A2 head is still better. With the same 36mm intake valves as the J35A8 head and individual exhaust ports, there is no beating the J32A2 heads. Ultimately, the best engine would be a J35 with the J32A2 head. This way, you get the displacement along with the best J-series head out there.

@@stevenp3176 at the same time, a j35 bottom end with the older j32 ecu nets you the displacement increase as well as the higher redline. That little of a displacement difference really isn't gonna cause issues

@@stevenp3176 heads are very far from the limit on these engines, especially the j32a2 heads. Tuning is not possible on the older engine like mine without going full standalone, but it's not actually needed anyway. Stock computer can do quite a bit of learning on its own

It looks like the guy came here mainly to sell his cam spacers, which is okay. However, I agree that he should have mentioned the cam specs. Not only did many come here hoping to hear it. But actually showing folks that the J35A8 cam does indeed have better specs than the J32A2 would have made a stronger case to go with them and buy his product.
