Out of curiosity I looked up weightlifting. Personally, I look at weightlifting as a means to strength muscles i.e. provide resistance to muscular movement thus building strength. I find Olympic weightlifting quite boring. I do not see it as a sport. Sports developed from idle soldiers during peace time. The king wanted the armies fit and ready for war. Competition was used to engage the soldiers and used pride to goad the soldiers. Of course, sports was meant to prepare but not to kill so lethal battles were excluded. A king doesn't want his own men killing each other. Overtime, all kinds of physical activities began to be included remotely related to war. All kinds of physical activities would help in a war in ancillary deparments such as medical staff in ambulance vehicles, supply lines, cooking and relaying messages, etc.

She should focus on the Olympics. My uncle was a body builder so knew about nutrition, exercise, repetitions, rest and muscle growth. In order to make you muscles grow you need to exceed the limit that is do a few more than your normal load. It hurts a lot but you need to rest a day or two till the pain goes away and start using the new load. After a while i.e. a few months increase your load. If you use the same load your muscles don't grow but you become stronger. For her to get more strength and more muscles on her legs she need to increase her load i.e. run up stairs or uphill in the countryside and run longer. Take a day's rest or two till the pain goes away. Maybe drinking milk from fast animals like horse, reindeer, deer or camel could help build faster muscles. She needs to do more difficult running. Do more half squats and calf exercises like rising on her toes with her hands on the wall and the body at 15°. look at how ballet dancers exercise. They have very powerful legs and make huge high and long jumps. She needs to be able to lunge forward in starting to improve her starts. She is always behind. If she can improve her starts she could qualify for the Olympics. Women in sports like sprinting and marathons use up all their fat so they look thin. Once they retire and quit the strenuous efforts the fat will gradually fill out their figure like Olympic gymnast Nadia Comaneci.

1st. Not strength, should be power 2nd. Are you sure she needs to run longer? 60m and 100m requires explosiveness, this is power. You are so obvious stuck in the Bodybuilding rep set mind set. Have no idea about sport science.

@@wingardener Are you a runner? 60 or 100 meters require endurance. Body building is all about power. Weight lifting is about strength. You do no more than 10 repetitons. Any more then you are going for strength. Many runners are doing weights. Of course, muscles are heavier than fat so excess muscles will only make the body heavier. You have to focus only on the mucles that does the job - no more, no less. Explosiveness is for starts then after that it is speed. If you notice Florence Griffith Joiner (FloJo), it was only under the tutelage of her husband that she became Olympic Champion. She worked on her half squats and jumps and strides. She really became musclar but with beautiful gracile muscles. She was 5'7". I think Xia Sining is 5'8" or 5'9" really tall but right height for women hurdlers. Wu Yanning is 5'9" and Lin Yuwei ranges from 5'7" to 5'9". The three of them are about the same height.Sining was shorter when she was 16 maybe 5'6". I could be wrong. She hit 13 seconds for 100 meters. She is improving.

@@chintham2861 I'm sorry, but you are so wrong... "Body building is all about power. Weight lifting is about strength." If this is what you think, it's ok, thank you for giving joke on the internet

@@wingardener Weight lifting is associated with wrestling while body building is for showing off muscles. Wrestling requires strength and endurance so you do a lot of repetition. However, you may be referring to lifting weights above the shoulders - that is a different sport. It is jerk and lift. In a way that is not weight lifting to me. It is strength and technique as well as timing. You can see how fat they are. They are a one sport athlete - can't run fast, swim fast, jump high nor long. Wrestlers are active though some may be fat. Body builders are for looks but they are strong and powerful. However, they may not have stamins as seen in MMA fights, boxing and wrestling matling matches. They do heavy loads with small reps.

😮You really opened my eyes. I am Olympic weightlifting coach for many years, this is the first time I heard someone weightlifting is similar to wrestling 😅 Good luck
