To me, Minako Yoshida’s album, Twilight Zone is as great as Joni Mitchell’s Blue. The difference is, in Japan there is no “Rolling Stone’s Greatest Albums of All Time” kind of writing or media. Still it’s every second as touching as Blue, perfectly depicting the feeling of true heartache. The storytelling is so personal and deep that if you listen to it throughout, it kind of hurts. I know, with the advent of the City Pop trend, her previous album, Flapper is gaining further attention, yet for those looking for their next pick, I highly recommend this one.
