You beat me to it. Great video, very entertaining use of the veg as triggers for sounds and loops. That's not to take away from his production and manipulation of the Novation either, which I'm actually more impressed with. It's simple to do, but the overall result cannot be maligned.

Pretty simple, actually. He uses the makey makey circuit to hook the vegetables up to his soundboard. Since vegetables conduct electricity, when he touches them it completes the circuit, and makes them play the sound he's programmed using his soundboard. Cool stuff ^-^

That was a Makey Makey and it basically just emulates various functions on a keyboard with alligator clipping and wires connected to the terminals. There's no software, all of the functions are done on the board.

It's a MIDI Controller, they are used with DAW software via a laptop/computer. I think that one he's using is a Novation SL 25.

There may be some beat repeat in the mix, especially on the bells, but most of the effects on the drums sound more to me like a delay with high feedback and a modulated delay time than beat repeat. Oh, and that snare reverb... mmm...
