Everyone complaining about the age difference between two ACTORS who have zero age difference as fictional characters: I'm not sure you know how casting calls work neither am I sure whether you guys ever went to see plays or musicals. So let me explain. First of all, casting calls. They usually say sth like, searching for an actor between the ages 14-22. Then you know the character they'll be playing is most likely 16-18. The casting call however gives you a much wider range, so that more ppl have the chance to apply for the role. And what happens then is very easy. You have a look at the people who are wanting to be cast and you go WITH THE PERSON WHO NAILS THE CHARACTER THE BEST. Usually, then there's also a chemistry test between the main characters who interact a lot. If that works out well, the actors are cast. In this case, the choice fell on those 4, simply because it was decided that they are the best options for their characters. Yes, Madison Reyes is a bit younger than Charlie Gillespie but the fictional characters are around the same age and there's nothing that suggests otherwise. So this is NOT problematic. Now as for musicals and theatres... I have been working in theatre productionw. And they never freaking care about age. When you nail the character, you nail it. And that's all that matters. It doesn't really matter to them if you're 14, 40 or 84. And no one ever judges anyone in theatres or musicals for that. No one cares and no one even knows. But it's on stage, just like this here is on screen. It's NOT real life. Get over it. Last but not least, Madison does not seem to be uncomfortable with Charlie. So, all in all: zero problematic. No one wants them to date in real life. Accept and move on.

Kissing is legal , she is a minor , but it's for a show and if she is truly uncomfortable with it I dont think the writers will write it in becuase they seem like they actually respect the actors opinions.
