Does it only run only on IP500v2 units, loaded with R11, even when on h323 mode?

Can u please help me with H323 firmware requirements for j169 phone.i have a j169 phone .i have download the firmware in TFTP server fron avaya site....but while booting getting software update failed post dhcp waiting message..please help me here..and also have selected singling mode as a H323 in phone setting.
