1 Week Onboard Marella Discovery Cruising the USA & Bahamas (Part 2)

Here’s the second and final part of our Marella Discovery American Dream cruise! We launch straight into day 2 in New York and I’ve got loads of tips for you to make the most of your time ashore, we eat onboard at the speciality pan-Asian restaurant ‘Kora La’, enjoy another day at sea, explore Charleston independently on our final port day, eat at the Glass House onboard, I show you the disembarkation and transfer process and finally our red eye flight back to the U.K. with Tui Airlines. @@TravelBlogJamie in our winter here, this week in upper 50’s mid 60*. If ever make it to FtWorth/Dallas area would looove to meet you both and buy you drinks. Great BBQ and Mexican food here. Closest port to here is Houston/ Galveston area. Not near as beautiful as you have shown me in places I’ll never see. I so appreciate you showing me other places. Beautiful, you two and the travels! Love New York and yes if you want to do the crown on Statue of Liberty you need to book early, think I had to book it about 2 months in advance, it’s worth the climb though 🙌 🗽

Great series on Marella Discovery, Thank you once more. I have been on her twice, but not since her referb. She is looking very smart. I much prefer her and her sister ship to Explorer 2. We had the musical afternoon tea the other week on E2. Fantastic value for money. It felt very special with the acting and singing. And the tea was excellent. I had the pasta wheel on E2 the other week, so they still do it. I could see it, but they don't bring it to the table. My pasta was cold, so they didn't charge me. I think the Italian onboard Marella has gone right down. It used to be fabulous. Thanks, Jamie. I noticed you only said it once during both vlogs Very much appreciated. You know what I mean.😊 Deb.x

It really is the most moving place. Last time we were there was a couple of days after 9/11 so there were little carnations in the na,es of the memorial 😢 the museum is excellent, sad, emotional but very informative. Meal looked tasty and now I want to try fried cheesecake!

It really depends on the ship, the itinerary, what you look for in a cruise! They are both completely different products so very difficult to compare!

It’s really hard to compare overall as they are so very different. Both companies do certain things better imo. The experience of Marella on this occasion was superior, but the travel there and back was very challenging at times. I’m of the opinion everyone should try as many cruise lines as possible and not stick to one.
