Good stuff. I grew up in Holland, MI on Macatawa. Used to enjoy the racing - especially the J30s and J24s out on Lake Michigan. Wow those 24s point well!! Enjoying the camera - I have been watching the range your tiller describes as you adjust, to calculate your sail balance and it's pretty precise! Live in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho now. Bring your crew rearward a few inches and see if it generates some hull lift and reduces your wetted surface a tad. Might find a quarter knot. Keep it up!

Just a thought: If you mount the camera a little more off to either side, then - w/o losing anything - we could see forestay sag and maybe even telltales.

I’ll give that a try we have a regatta this weekend. What side do you think would be better port or stbd?

@@SailDallasRacing Thanks! If on starboard then we can see it during most starts and at approaches to weather marks.

Tnx for the full vid. IMO man luff's too loose and with sheet closing the leach you's have a bit baggy main (can't be seen), five crew on a 24 footer !?, can't see the distribution of weight, but perhaps you're plowing a bit.
@SailDallasRacing11 ай бұрын
Thank you. Our class weight is 882 lbs and we were about 820 pounds all together. I agree with what you said about the luff as well.
@observer217211 ай бұрын
@@SailDallasRacing TNX. Is the weight as compulsory min?
@SailDallasRacing10 ай бұрын
We don’t have a min class weight we just need to eat more ideally you would be right at that 882

What about four racing, You're trimming main anyway. It's a small boat, makes difference, (unless it's a social event mainly) t@@SailDallasRacing

Crew need to sit better to reduce aero drag on windward legs
