I think if a boat damages another boat where performance is impacted or completely disabled, the offending boat retires. Maybe they wanted as much competition to remain on the race course as possible. All in all, they took the hit with grace and didn't lose their minds over it.

That is a complete lack of awareness on the part of the other skipper AND his crew. My question is: Where the hell were they going on that heading? it's like they were in a different race.

au lieu de rester debout comme un con et gêner la vue, il ferait mieux de s'assoir.... voilà pourquoi je n'aime pas la compétition, ces mecs sont prêts à casser un bateau parce qu'ils ont la priorité...!! j'ai la priorité je passe sur le passage piéton...PAN t'est mort.. mais j'avais la priorité...!!

How about you relax a little bit with your language!!! What am i supposed to do, bear away (even though i have right of way) every time somebody is going to pass me by closely??!? It's a f**cking race, not a retirement get together party!!! Skipper on the other boat is a really good sailer, we used to compete a lot against each other, always very tight races and close calls..i yelled at him 2-3 times before the crash, more then enough time for him to bear away and not enough time for me to do anything after realising he is not changing course. Things like that happen, he did acknowledge he made a mistake seconds after crash (saying ''mea culpa''), there were no hard feelings after the regatta, the boats were repaired and thats it..
