लंबे वक्त बाद अमरवाड़ा पहुंचे कमलनाथ ने उपचुनाव के यज्ञ में अपनी आहूति दी. अमरवाड़ा में कांग्रेस के पहलवान धीरनशा के पक्ष में प्रचार करने पहुंचे कमलनाथ ने उपचुनाव को धोखे का चुनाव बताया. उन्होंने कहा कि इस चुनाव की कोई जरूरत नहीं थी. कमलनाथ ने साफ कहा कि यह धोखा कमलनाथ के साथ नहीं जनता के साथ है. कमलनाथ के साथ अमरवाड़ा में कमान संभालने पहुंचे पीसीसी चीफ जीतू पटवारी ने बीजेपी उम्मीदवार कमलेश शाह पर सीधा हमला बोला. पटवारी ने शाह की शराब की लत पर निशाना साधते हुए कहा कि पिछले चुनाव में कमलनाथ ने विरोध के बाद भी कमलेश शाह को टिकट दिया था.
