I met Vidushi Prabha Atre ji 3 years ago when she was 88.A living legend, her music clearly tells a lot about her persona but when I actually met her, I immediately knew I wanted to be her when I am 88!
A shining spirit, warm yet detached demeanour, no wrinkles!! and fiercely independent.
Jaagu Mein Sari Raina is a bandish composed by Prabha Atreji and here is my ode to her music and genius.

I saw a beautiful place that no one known when I was close my eyes by listening this song, and my heart felt so light . I think this is the beauty of sangeetam... Perfect !!! I do not know what else to say. Your performances often leave me in lack of words for your appreciation. I was continuously smiling throughout experience this blissful piece and somehow the atmosphere around me started feeling more delightful. Raag Maru Bihag was one of the very first raags that I ever listened and I instantly fell in love with it. This performance brought me an equal amount of delight as when I first listened to it.The dhrut bandish is indeed a beautiful composition by Mrs Atre and the beauty and mood of the raag was evident in your interpretation as well. Your taans were so graceful and elegant and exquisite. The tabla sangat was the perfect addition and made the experience even more delightful. Appreciation for the tabla vadak. Besides, I loved reading your description. Prabha Atre ji is a legend, the perfection in her singing and yet the effortlessness in her performance is unmatched. It would have truly been a great experience being able to meet such a radiant personality. Her style was evident in your performance , especially at the beginning, and the nuances of your own style added, made it even enjoyable. This rendition of yours has truly won me over. I felt the same connect to this piece as I did to Paayal when I heard it the first time (Don't know if I should mention it here but yes, Paayal is my favourite Maati Baani song and even after hundreds of listens it still the closest to my heart). With every new episode, you make me admire you even more. Navyaa is the best series that I have come across, making me appreciate aesthetics greatly and establishing a strong connect betwen me and music. Hope that this never stops. @@rkhosla9982 No Mr. Khosla. It's जाह्नवी in Sanskrit meaning जह्नो: भवा इति जाह्नवी गंगा इत्यर्थ:। So h comes before n. One who's came from Sage Jahnu is Jahnavi meaning Ganga Mata.
