He was already criticised that he has western influence. Nothing wrong with it others were doing it.He was doing good at that. As people were saying he started to change his style and here the downfall started. He should have gone on like that.

RD was always versatile. Look at his range. Don't just tag him with western style....80s also hendidnthe same. Zammen asman sunny savera wali gaadi lava subhkamna namumkin etc today r regarded classics now. But disco and so called chalu songs that became norms in mid 80$ led to RDs decline. He didn't want to remain relevant by following the trend and hence he stands out even today
