Rajya Sabha is the upper house of the Indian Parliament. A permanent house of the Parliament, the Rajya Sabha is never ordered dissolved. Members of Parliament of the Rajya Sabha are elected on basis of proportional representation by Members of Legislative Assemblies in the States.
