You might have seen prisoners escaping from central jails in films, but something equally dramatic happened in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. A prisoner confined in the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Central Jail attempted to escape but ultimately failed. This inmate found himself so trapped within the jail walls that the officials had to kneel before him. However, as soon as the count of inmates in the barrack decreased, the officials became alert. The central jail alarm rang in the middle of the night, and a sense of silence spread not only within the jail but also in the surrounding areas.

फिल्मों में अभी तक आपने सेंट्रल जेल से कैदियों को भागते हुए देखा होगा. लेकिन मध्य प्रदेश की जबलपुर में भी फिल्मी स्टाइल से कुछ कम नहीं हुआ. जहां जेल में बंद कैदी भागने की फिराक में था. लेकिन सफल नहीं हो पाया. नेताजी सुभाषचंद्र बोस सेंट्रल जेल का यह कैदी जेल की दीवारों के अंदर ऐसा फंसा कि अफसरों के आगे घुटने टेकने पड़े. हालांकि जैसे ही एक कैदी की गिनती बैरेक से कम हुई. अफसरों के कान खड़े हो गए. आनन-फानन सेंट्रल जेल का अलार्म रात में बजा और सेंट्रल जेल में ही नहीं आसपास के इलाकों में फिर सन्नाटा पसर गया.
