For those complaining about African being in the title ask yourself where brazilian music would be without african beats, creativity, history. Its like taking tomatoes out of tomato sauce, like peanut butter without jam, like living without breathing

Mel you should listen to "Bossa Nova". Its sounds a brazillain jazz and it is definitely without african beats.
@a.p.58259 жыл бұрын
***** False. The harmonies used in most Bossa are from the European element of jazz (jazz stylistically obviously being an aggregate of european and african elements). However, the rhythm played on guitar is exclusively of Afro-Brazilian roots, with the syncopated patterns directly coming from samba, which is from Africa via Bahia. You're right for the wrong reasons.

Eles vão dizer: "Jesus salva-me, perdoa-me dos meus pecados!"

I listen to this compilation while at work AT LEAST weekly, and love having it in the background while typing. Lately I find myself waking up with song #2--Lá Vem a Baiana Silveira--in my head. Having listened to it for so long, I am able to sing some of the phrases. Love the variety of tempos and the happy hour this brings.
