Lyrical theme of this song is based on an extended metaphor that tough and hard-to-get girl is like a fiberglass - you can get hurt if yo come too close. To be honest, I think that the lyrics are quite good for this type of music - the leitmotif of fiberglass is explored with certain wit and song making craft. As for the outfit of these guys - I dare to reckon that in 2001 we all were not exactly from a fashion show. In nowadays from this perspective of over-aesthetised ironic hipster hyperreality everything related to such a distant past looks a bit clumsy, silly and naive.
