It blows my mind that these boxes of this era are still at their pandemic prices. I bought my last one off Ebay in March of 2019 for 96 dollars, total of 105.25 with shipping. I also bought a 1984 Fleer wax box that month for 116.00, total of 131 with shipping. Unless you pull a PSA 10 of a few select cards, you have zero chance of getting anywhere near 450 back from this box.

Awesome throwback! Love those classic Fleer cards!

I'll always love this set. 1985 Fleer was the first pack of baseball cards I ever opened. I got an Ozzie Smith card (my favorite player at the time), and I immediately started collecting for many years.

I saved up money from helping neighbors and chores to buy my first card from this set. Eric Davis.

it looked like the Puckett card had another card stuck to it, if you look closely at the bottom front of the card it looks like another card is behind it but when jabs turns it over it has the Puckett back.
@jamesthoman205 ай бұрын
The only reason I looked at the chat was to see if someone else saw that also. Definitely looked like another card was stuck. Jabs turned it over to show the back - 2 Kirbys?

Looked again and might just be a black line. I think he would have noticed the thickness.

That Kirby Puckett was two of them stuck together! You can see another card sticking out from the front and when you turn it over it’s a Puckett!

No way. The gum is the magic in opening wax packs. Topps should bring it back.

Too bad on the Eric Davis .not much you can do with the wax stain on a matte finish. Don't get the Puckett being priced so much lower than Davis. Nice story on Jon getting the ball today..that your Dad was with you was truly special. My Dad passed in 1975 and I still miss him. He actually got me started collecting. He was the meat manager at a grocery store and the owner was going to toss the baseball cards in September but gave them to Dad to take home to me.

I opened a lot of this product when it came out. Opening a Fleer box, every box had 540/660 cards. I can honestly say i never got even 1 double in all the boxes i ever opened. Cards were positioned in the pack in the same order as they were in a factory set. You were only getting at best, 1 of each card. You had a 82% chance of getting that 1 card you wanted. Great video, brings back a lot of memories.

Pucket would have never made the hall of fame if his personal behavior had been made public. Awful misogyny. Sad that sports heroes don’t always end up being good humans. 😢

I used to live in Minneapolis…went on a couple dates with a woman who somehow knew some Twins ex-wives. I have to agree with what you’re saying based on what she relayed from her time hanging with the exes. I don’t think he was the only one. Sad story.

@@cardyard608 clearly, a lot of people let their demons play out, on their spouses and children. It’s just sad and surprising when you looked up to them, or they are marketed as heroes. I’m sure Kirby learned his behavior from someone HE looked up to. 😥
