LGBT was profoundly accepted in Hinduism before invasions and colonization. The evidence being Kamasutra and khurjao temples. Our culture was so open to all these things before any other religion or culture but sadly our own history has been polished and rubbed against with foreign thoughts and mentality that we have become so conservative. Thankfully atleast our countries law has been changing for good.

Jaby totally missed her point when talking about the domestic violence discussion. Psychological fear of social implications is not the same as actually fearing for her life, fear of getting her bones broken, fear of knowing the fact that if a man attacked her she might not be able to protect herself physically even if she wanted to because a man is by default physically and biologically stronger than a woman. That's real powerlessness.
@dia6062 жыл бұрын
Yeah he didn’t get that at all - the social fallout is an issue if you actually get out alive. The stakes are totally different here if you’re a woman being attacked
@justastudent46052 жыл бұрын
a guy here. i completely agree with you. 1st of all, swati said that as a joke and you can understand it when she immediately follows it by the parallel parking joke. 2nd i can't imagine how fragile a man has to be to say 'weLL WoMEn aBUse tOO'. yeah THEY DO. 100%. BUT that's not even the point here. and i've been seeing this a lot with jaby that he gets extremely defensive when there's a discussion about physical abuse that women go through. if you're raising awareness about an issue (physical abuse faced by men in this case) you should talk about it independently and not when someone brings up women's issues. i'm so glad that indian men (the newer generation) are starting to have better sense to judge a joke as a joke and not counter it with stupid contextless and loud arguments.

Jaby really totally missed the violence part...... there is a difference between thinking about how society would react (men make themselves look bad and then get mad because someone sees them how they show it) and just fearing for your life when someone much stronger than you comes at you. By this I definitely dont mean to ignore men who face violence but just bringing it up at time when domestic violence against women is talked about feels awfully wrong . I don't think she meant all men resort to domestic violence, in India especially, where most men have been raised with certain principles, this statement is for those. Again not saying that all men are assholes but most of them are and that does not mean that women aren't.

@@thedn3164 that's not true. Domestic violence is a problem in urban areas too. It's not the teachings, it's the things that are considered a normal conduct in the society. @Saxenams172 жыл бұрын
@@thedn3164 I'd really recommend reading the NCRB report on Domestic Violence in India and the WHO report on Domestic Violence in South-asian Countries. It's a real eye opener. Again, I'm not condoning domestic violence against men, that is a bigger concern too given how the reporting of the same is limited but the fact that women are at a greater risk of the same cannot be negated as well and in this particular video, she mentions that same from the perspective of women. You will find videos where men have come out as a victim of domestic violence too and that is much appreciated too but just because a woman is trying to convey something that is so prevalent cannot be read/taken otherwise.

@@Kathakathan11 it's not just about violence. It's also about being judgemental. Being contradicting every second. It's annoying to talk to some girls. Girls in my area always want to wear make up and follow trendy clothes etc saying that it's their body their choice but they also judge other women who dress old fashioned or don't apply any make up. That's hypocrisy at its finest. Which makes most girls around me annoying to talk to. I m afraid to talk to boys because yes I know "not all men" but I don't know "which man". As a result, my social life is kinda dead. I was excited to join back classes only to get really judgmental and gossiping girls as classmates.

10:30 that's the point Jaby . If a girl is hitting me, most probably I am just gonna defend myself and not attack her but not for a second will I be scared of getting hurt . And Ik thats not the case with all men but believe me atleast 90% men if not more will think like that only. But the thing is like for me atleast , as an example I can never like punch a women on stomach atleast untill I am really scared for my life ( like if she's coming at me with a knife or something ) cause the only thig that will be in my mind is whoever she may be , my one punch can destroy her so much that she may not even be able to conceive . Its same as when boys fight , you'd rarely see them going for each others pp. But not all men are like that , If a man wants to hit a woman like in a case of DV or something a man can do a lot more damage than a woman can. Bro I have sisters and female friends and whenever I hold their arms the only thing i realise is how easy it would be for me to break it (not so similar feel with my brothers arm tho 💀) . But at the same time yes i agree with you too , even when its not my fault i would be scared as hell for authority and society taking her side and even if a girl is wrong this is the last thing she'd fear . I also believe there are probably a lot more cases of violence against males by females than what get registered due to the "pride" we carry but still they cannot surpass the DV against women (considering there are also women who don't report such cases because of society and the fear and trauma they have ). And from where steph is coming am on her side on this . If its about domestic violence (especially in india) females are a lot more prone to it than us. For most cases we can defend ourselves without attacking and they cant , thats the truth. (And please guys i dont mean any of it as an insult or something so dont get offended that we are girls we can defend ourselves so and so , i just mean it as a biological fact as steph is saying).

Before anyone promotes inter religion marriages, believe me if your other religion partner is not highly educated and you're not capable of taking care of yourself, never involve yourself with inter religion marriages. Our parents don't forbid us for fun. Their experience is something to be respected. Be mindful of who who get involved with. This applies to all religions since Indian has like 10 religions.
