They were primarily formed to protect the "HINDUS" from "ISLAMIC INVASIONS" and uphold the values of "SANATANA DHARMA" + their's a reason why every eldest son in a "HINDU" family was made a "SINGH" literally meaning lion (the protector of the faith + family on an individual level)...😇

@AVNER 12 I KNOW "SIKHISM" stands for " HUMANITY" ,but they were made from "HINDUS" ...have the guts to deny that as simple as that...and "SANATANA DHARMA" is called "MOTHER OF ALL RELIGIONS" it itself is not a religion you fool... First learn the very basic difference between "धर्म" & "मज़हब" (RELIGION) RELIGION IS TO RELEGATE FROM AN UPPER LEVEL TO A LOWER LEVEL BY A MESSENGER OF GOD AS IT IS IN ABRAHAMIC RELIGIONS LIKE CHRISTIANITY OR ISLAM WHERE THEY FOLLOW IT IN AN ORGANIZED MANNER THROUGH THEIR "HOLY BOOKS" I.E "BIBLE" & "QURAN" ...भगवान RAMA'S name is mentioned atleast 332-352 times in "GURBANI"... then dickheads like you have the audacity to say "GURU GOBIND SINGH JI IS SAID AS IDOL DESTROYER" 😂😂😂 Whom did "GURU TEGH BAHADUR JI" die for MUGHALS? I DARE YOU TO SAY MUGHALS... GO AHEAD DO IT... 😂😂😂 + When KASHMIRI PANDITS (HINDUS) were being slaughtered by RADICAL ISLAMISTS in those days too...they came to GURU GOBIND SINGH JI MAHARAJ for his help... DISTORTED HISTORY WILL NEVER BE ACCEPTED BY US INDIANS, ATLEAST IN THE EYES OF AMERICANS LIKE "JABY" & "ACHARA" you are being percieved as a fool who is against his own culture... Brother read the ACTUAL & REAL history not from mainstream history books of INDIA which have been dominated by a certain ideology since 1950's...

@@varunawasthi917 In Guru Granth Sahib, Rama is Inner Soul of person; also called Paratama or Antar. It should not be confused with Hindu version of King Ramachandra of Ayodhya. Etymologically, Rama means which is present in all living beings. The positive and enlightened consciousnesses of a soul is attributed as Ram where as Negative attentions and soul in delusion is called Shyama. Shyama also means Black or Krishna. In Gurmat, Raam and Krishna are two aspects of Soul. Gurbani is story of the Spiritual Rama also called Raja Raam Ki Kahani. Rama is not Supreme in Gurbani; but Sub-Supreme without which one could not attain Supreme (Hukam). One have to experience their inner soul i.e Ram first. Once get mingle with inner soul; it gets connected to Shabad. One person leave his black part(Mann) attribute and work acc. to inner soul. then he will able to understand Ram. There are other qualitative Synonyms of Rama in Gurbani like Har(i), Prabh(Not Prabhu), Satgur(Not Satguru), Paratma(not paramatma) etc. Ram is not present in Non Living things like Stones, idols, iron, gold or silver. In Gurmat, Rama is not physical entity but Spiritual entity. The difference is cleared in Sikh texts where prevalent King Ramachandra is written as "Tumra Raam" and Raam prevaded in all is written as "Hamara Ram". If you have any patience and brains to understand Gurumukhi leaving your ego aside, I do request you to read it. Also, yes Sikhs were before Hindus. But, there was a reason, our religion was necessary to be established and break away from hindu discrimination among Kshatriya, shudra, Brahmin and vaishya. Where, Hindus used to discriminate with menstruating women, Sikhism on the other side taught us that a woman is as human as men or any other living being in this universe.

Guru Teg Bahadur’s body was left there initially but taken by his followers afterwards creating a tricky situation breaking the security circle around it. At that time the rulers wanted to create a fear but failed to as there were courageous Sikhs who would cremate the body of Guru with respect and undercover by keeping it in their house and burning the whole house to avoid being caught by the rulers. Guru’s head was taken by Bhai Jaita and handed over to Guru Gobind Singh.

@Rohit Baghel i meant to say that no one can give sacrifices more than Guru Gobind Singh ever in history. I didn't said that you are wrong. I just said that maybe i took it in wrong way and sorry for that but i didn't want to put you down. Believe me , i have been truthful in all my life. It has some perks too but the world starts taking you for granted. Speak truth whenever its right not always.

@Preteen Dhillon many people did sacrifices not just Sikhs, we treat every person who sacrificed his/her life for this country as a god.
@siriusblack3674 жыл бұрын
@Preteen Dhillon i will have to disagree with you on that. In my school, from 6th to 8th we were taught about the sikh valour and all the sacrifices the sikhs had to go through during the mughal era. And now in college, we have an entire subject called history and culture of punjab which teaches 1st and 2nd year students the entire history of punjab. And in punjab university there is a quota for the victims of 1984 riots and there kids.
@siriusblack3674 жыл бұрын
@Preteen Dhillon i would also like to reiterate that I went to a strict christian missionary school. And our syllabus was closely monitored. But when it came to teaching punjabi and the history of punjab, there was more relaxation and was only allowed to be taught to us by a punjabi preferably a sikh teacher.

Sikhs are the most wholesome people out there. Not only are gurudwaras open to everyone despite of their social class and religion they provide millions of people free food and even provide accomodation for people who are homeless or in need. Sikhism abolished the caste system and that’s why men have the last name Singh (lion) and women have Kaur (lioness/princess). Around the world there are hundreds of Sikh organisation such as the Sikh helpline which helps people facing abuse, domestic violence, and mental health issues. Khalsa aid is another organisation which has put in nearly 2.3 billion dollars and hundreds of workers who help people in the Middle East and other countries facing conflict and war. They also help communities dealing with natural disasters who have lost their homes and belongings. Sikhs historically are warriors, therefore all of them are trained in self defence and vow to do good for humanity. In the Gurugranth Sahib we are told “god is one” to some it might appear as Allah, Shive, Jesus and other holy entities but we are to respect everyone equally.
