I’m a psychologist & we are so not the way it was portrayed. The counsellor’s character is basically introduced to provide some comic relief to the show but you’re right we, psychologists never force our opinions on others rather guide the individual towards the answers they already know somewhere down. It's all about relatability. If the audience relates to characters regardless of the plot, then the show is a hit. And this show does a good job portraying that feeling. Plus, the plot and actually pretty good too. So all in all a very good show.

For as much you guys said you can see the both sides, its fascinating to see how past experience dictates how you see scenes like the one in the restaurant. From ep1 of s1, you can see that Sri, while has been shown as a hero to us, his family doesn't know that. To his family and suchi, he left that life long ago and got a desk job at TASC. She doesn't know much of what we saw happen last season. From her perspective, Sri has been negelectful, absent, has been lying through his teeth throughput their marriage. Their marriage is already on rocks from the very first episode of the show. And while we see and know how much has Sri been doing for his family, you gotta keep in mind that this change has only occurred in the last some months between end of s1 and beginning of s2, and also when he started perceiving a sort of threat in that guy who's her friend. So her frustration is quite legitimate if you disregard all the extra information that we know as viewers and look at this relationship purely from her perspective. Although this is obviously being exacerbated her guilt for whatever might have happened in s1 between her and that friend, and also because of the bad therapist's advices.

Her frustration is not because of how Sri behaved in the past. It is about guilt. Whatever happened with her and Arvind is causing that frustration. Yes if we see on the basis of relationship I might understand her point of view, but whatever happened between Arvind and her changed this whole scenario. Right now she is just confused and with the terrible advice from that psychologist, she is trying to justify whatever happened to herself only. And that is why she is frustrated. She is taking odd meanings in his sentences and bring up old topics. And with this, she is pretending that she is the only one with problems. From a relationship point of view also what she is doing is not right and is hurtful. And well with a full picture of what he goes through and all that it is easy to get annoyed by her.

The therapist's role was for the more for the purpose of drama and comic relief. If it were to be accurate, the drama wouldn't carry further in their lives, would it? Also, the person who played the part very recently ended his life... mentioning that here so that you would be kinder with your words towards him. He was a terrific actor.

It's a little sad that you guys were frustrated with Suchi and not Manoj. I SO FELT it when she tells him that he wants a medal for doing all the things for like a year that she has been doing for their whole marriage. It's so so common that this happens, that a husband cooks once or picks up the kids once and he's some kind of a hero while it's assumed that it's the wife's duty. Also, Suchi doesn't know he has a field job. He always tells her that he is doing paperwork and desk job. So then, from her POV, both of them have jobs and careers. Why then is the responsibility of taking care of the family disproportionately on her? If you do some intense job like Manoj, you should have a partner who knows what they are getting into and sign up for it. Otherwise it's plain selfish. That way I love JK a lot more because he has no family, who he's putting through all this.

The whole concept of mental health is evolving in India. The counsellor is essentially a Paychologist, not a medical professional like a Psychiatrist. These counsellors are common in India and they are not Therapists. That’s why you see that guy giving out philosophical advice which, as Shrikant Tiwari says, is available on Google!! And i think this guy is portrayed like this for comedy relief, but Therapists in India are not like that!!

The Tamils of the movement shown in Season 2 are from Sri Lanka. But they have many sympathizers in Tamil Nadu, India.
