Bhavani is easily the best villain role done by Sethupathi. It's not just the backstory but how the Union president storyline keeps going till the interval. Most stories bench the villain and limit their scenes to the interactions they have with the hero. Also having the hero with a major flaw that needs to be overcome as alcoholism also does wonders for his growth. It's introduced as a quirky personality trait but really becomes a problem when he is needed. One thing to note is that Bhavani doesn't use the money he has to live a better life. He has the money to buy a lavish home and eat from expensive restaurants. But he sleeps in the open and eats cheap biriyani from down the street. Yet he still continues doing the crimes. He is just in it for the violence now.

Usually in all Vijay movies, the villain's impact in the movie will be nullified by Thalapathy Vijay. But what Lokesh did with Master is he had given a strong back story to the villian with an positive Work Ethics and a justice to how a normal guy has been driven into bad guy.

Great movie and one of few where the directors who used vijay's acting prowess instead of market prowess to make stupid ass money, same director used the actor vijay in movie called leo and vijay sethupati nailed his villian role as bhawani. Overall good but in the end little weird 😂 of him getting back up as a protector 😂😂. Otherwise everything's good.
