I wish you could understand hindi-urdu-punjabi in this movie... it's soo beautiful... When Veer meets zara's fiancé at the raileay station, her fiancé asks 'apki tareef'? Which loosely translates to , 'May I know some good things (praises)about you? . English subtitle says, 'who are you?' . Doesn't give that feel of words!

Shabbo should have told him that he is not going to be able to take her with permission and if she married that guy, her life will be miserable. So the only option was to ask her to elope with him secretly which is what they should have done. He just became a doormat to her mom and dad and paid the price. If they are willing to sacrifice her daughter's life, they are willing to do anything to him too. The fiance is also in the same game.
