This is not just a movie. It showed different aspects of religions, classic love story, the intensity of art, be it writing or poetry or singing. The psychological aspect of human beings when they are in love. The wilderness inside us that wants to explore, in other words, societal implications, thoughts, mannerism, class, restrictions, it showed the value of freedom. It showed the darker side of a heart who wants to be free but fame comes in between. It showed that how art gets sold, when rockstar shrieked and cried in pain on stage, the whole audience danced. So, it's not just a movie, it's something any artist wants to convey to the world, that we want freedom to do what we want to, and freedom to love.

See ...he was not friendzoned actually coz even he was not in love with her at starting ....he was just trying to get an rejection so that he can fullfill the criteria ( pain and heartbreak )of an artist but he discover that she is actually really cool and they become friends......even during her wedding scene.....both of them didn't even realise that they love each other or should i say they both are sure about their own feelings but not about each other

Believe me, I just watched the movie a few days back again.... its simply a blissful feeling... A.R Rahaman's music will make you feel every lyric of Irshad Kamil and Imtiaz Ali's screenplay will keep you hooked with the right emotions... Mohit Chauhan was another soul of the movie and Finally Ranbir - his best to date.... what else to say, "Jo Bhi Main, Kehna Chahoon Barbaad Karein, Alfaaz Mere, Alfaaz Mere"

It was the first time his song came to him naturally like one breaths, it came from a devine blessing from above, which was within oneself afterall and he become one with the universe. It's the essence of Sufism. That's what it symbolises. And trust me no amount of translation can give justice to the words used in songs of this movie. Each is of different genre and style, progresses the story different way and tells a story within itself. It's probably one of the greatest musical story ever told imo. PS: .... And now I have to listen to entire album again all day

In this movie I saw two things, Prague and Delhi University North Campus, I was in my last year of school and because of this movie I decided to study at North Campus and one day visit Prague. 2 years after the movie I started my bachelors at North Campus, best 3 years of my life and 9 and a half years later I finally got to visit Prague! That is the power of story-telling, it can change a life!

Acting, directing and music are perfect in this movie, but what doesn’t get nearly enough credit is Aarti Bajaj’s editing. It’s hauntingly beautiful. We can flow from one emotion or timezone to another so seamlessly, like a dream that you struggle to remember fully but are able to piece it together when recalling the fragments of it.

Ok ok ok, you guys are missing a couple of things here , Heer had an arranged marriage and never really opened herself to anybody besides Jordan , she showed him her true side and they had fun together but both of them didnt realise that they were falling in love. Heer said "yes" to him before her wedding but Jordan didnt understand it and didnt realise it he loved her. When he got home he had a sense of longing for her and after being rejected from his home he went to Nizamudin dargah (very very prestigious religious place where people from other countries often visit because of its divine) he goes to dargah because he has no money and just was looking for a place to stay but fate got him back to music as he begins playing in the prayer group and when he is singing his heart out he realises that music is his escape from all his pain. that's why he bows before leaving as he thanks god for this realisation and goes to Katana's place. this movie has many deep layered characters which you have to think deeply to understand . also pay attention to the lyrics of songs which Jordan sings as they are his escape and he sings his true feeling which he can't express in songs.
