Jaci's story is a REAL-LIFE story. So many times, we believe that once we turn to God, that we won't face life's adversities. I love her honesty and transparency. It is so endearing to hear leaders in the industry deal with real life like we all do. Thank you for being you, Jaci and not pretending to have it all together. Jaci Velasquez- has been a role model to young people.. in my time. Back in 90's. This woman walk faithfully in God. Look at her she doesnt need the approval of people in secular musics. She is the salt and light. Her songs has annointing. Because when she made all these. It comes from pure conversation with the Lord. I saw many christian artist but they all compromise their faith to the world. I pray that God will still use Jaci even people recognize her. GOD does and thats very important.

Listening to her I realize people make drama where it doesn't exists. Make a comedy movie or marrying the wrong person for you it's nothing to feel shame about it. Trying to please what others think on how to live your life will not bring you closer to God but been honest and clear the negativity of your life brings you peace and that's how you can connect. I think she just keep trying to fit in a world that doesn't exists.

Yesss I feel like she shouldn’t have to apologize for her choices or feel so much guilt she had to run. God didn’t create us to be perfect so She’s not perfect she’s allowed to made mistakes good or bad. As a young teenage boy in the early 90's, I was a 'closet fan' of Jaci the moment I first heard her Debut album at the Blessings bookstore in Halifax. Of course, it was not the music that other boys my age were listening to - not even the Christian guys - but I've always had a soft spot for that contemporary 'soft pop' style that isn't in your face all the time. I'd just listen to it quietly in my room with the headphones on. In my opinion, when the Christian music industry props up a 16 year old girl as a marketable product (more on that in a minute), the response of the 'Christian community' is predictably complicated when poor influences and poor choices begin to creep in and sabotage a real life. But the problem is that we would systematically lift up and promote a young person as an influential pop figure in the first place. It is a flawed idea that this sort of situation is edifying or spirit-building in any way for somebody like Jaci - even when things are 'going well'. Many other Christian artists have chimed in about this. There is absolutely NO spiritual assistance in the Christian music industry. Is is a highly secularized place driven by profit and worldly influence at the top levels. The industry, and those who run it, will take everything - all of the energy, enthusiasm and ambition - that these artists could possibly throw at them, and more. All along, spiritual well-being is _assumed_, not fostered. "Don't ask, don't tell" is the running policy insofar that life struggles might privately overtake one of their own while they burn themselves out trying to achieve (or retain) relevance. Of course, should those struggles become public, the artist is cut off from label resources and tossed aside. It is, after all, a business, and the executives running the show know that they cannot market a spiritual failure as a luminary. So make no mistake - it is the industry that hung her out to dry - NOT so much the Christian community. It is hard to fault Christian consumers who were, at the time, looking mostly looking for a little authenticity and stability in the role models they wished to promote to their young people. The church cannot really go on promoting somebody who appears to be embracing secularism in place of the traditional values of Scripture. It makes perfect sense that the conservative market she once appealed to would do a double-take; 'Chasing Papi' was the warning shot, and then the marriage/divorce gave the appearance of rushed recklessness. That said, I don't doubt that there was plenty of inappropriate judgement directed at this young woman at a pretty vulnerable time in her life which would have just made things worse for her, but I'm not going to waste any sentiment on that idea because I have no idea what that private situation would have looked like for her and she doesn't talk about it. That said, I can only imagine the impact that sort of public negativity would have on a young lady who hasn't yet actualized in her own mind the consequences of her choices, but is living out the judgement of her market. But the fact that her market dried up - that is just a consequence of a bad lifestyle choice while making a living in the Christian music industry. I am in no way justifying mistreatment, here. I am simply drawing the necessary correlation between spiritual well-being and market forces when we dare to marry the two together in the 'contemporary christian' industry the way they have. I guess I'm just trying to say that it doesn't seem fair to me to suggest that the 'Christian community' tore her down. She fell - like all of us at some time do - but she fell publicly and she fell when the stakes were high. This is sad and regrettable, but that doesn't make it the fault of the church. It would have been better if she hadn't been elevated at all.
@bradmorris57972 жыл бұрын
@@lisa77901 I think it's important to decouple the inappropriate, unjust judgements she may have faced (which we don't really know about, but can probably assumed happened) from the implicit consequences of making poor business decisions. Was Jaci done wrong at a young age by some people she trusted? Probably, yeah. The music and movie industries use and exploit youth, and the Christian music sub-industry falls into that category as well. Despite outside influences, Jaci has made it clear that she had loved ones telling her when she was about to jump into muddy waters. But, when your 'job' is so tightly coupled with your lifestyle (which it absolutely IS - like it or lump it - for Christian music artists), you are effectively doubling-down on your spiritual well being. On one side, you have your emotional and psychological health, and on the other, your have your product that is made marketable or unmarketable by the lifestyle you choose to live. It isn't a good situation for young people to begin with. There is no margin for error; the stakes are always high; wisdom and experience are low; and 'career opportunities' which really turn out to be exploitation appear beautiful and good. But I don't accept that it is her listeners' fault for detecting inauthenticity when she made a series of sketchy choices, which she has herself admitted were not good. You simply cannot do that as a public figure (youth or not) and not encounter problems. ...all of that said, here she is in 2021, being real about what happened early in her career, being naïve like any teenager, yet acknowledging the choices she made for what they were, and finally moving on with her life by the grace of God. Life may have done her wrong a time or two, but life does everybody wrong. All we can do is pick ourselves up by the bootstraps and carry on - not sure what more anybody can ask for. I was encouraged by this video to see her getting on with her life, digging in to God's word, and living in the Spirit.

Beautiful interview! Is there a way to gather and meet up with any of the professional sports players, musicians, actors, and pay for all who would be needed, to build them homes, bringing over plumbers, architects, carpenters, electricians, etc, to teach them how to grow vegetables and obtain meats and fruits?! This has been heavy on my heart, for many years! I see those children eating Cream of Wheat and feel guilty for eating a variety of wonderful foods. It just isn't right. Not in God's eyes, nor should it be, in ours. He speaks of helping the poor, so often, in His Word. Contact me, please, to be involved in getting all who can be a part of this big, and important ministry!

She still has no accountability, instead of saying the movie was in poor taste and she shouldn’t have taken the role, she highlights the fact that it was pg-13 as if to say I was judged wrongly the movie was kosher. I had to Google the movie cause I had never heard of it, and the scene that came up was her and the two other women stripping their jackets open to reveal their lingerie. I’m guessing because jaci’s was the most covered that makes her exempt. The movie was inappropriate. The other scene I saw was Sofia with the shortest dress on bending over and telling the guy that if her ever cheats on her, some witchcraft spirit will come after him. Jaci seems to still not have properly processed the ungodly nature of the Film as she is still blaming her “yes men” I was about to buy her book but it doesn’t seem like she has a mature or true perspective on what actually happened so yea nah
