Just a query: if i invest in index fund, money gets invested in PSU companies as well isnt it? But actively managed funds avoid these govt companies from the fund and provide more returns. So even if we are paying a bit more in expense ratio, is it better to invest in active funds?

When it comes to comparison of active funds to index we usually compare with average returns of active funds, it is quite possible to get more return on actively managed funds but choosing that funds comes with selection risk of almost 1:1

Well there is no harm in investing in PSU bank with right allocation with buy at low price...neeedd to be patient...and have exit stretagy while profiting

Hi. 1. Index funds are of different kinds. If you are referring to Nifty 50, they follow a methodology that is listed on the NSE website 2. It would be incorrect to say that actively managed funds avoid these companies. Infact, we did a detailed analysis of HDFC Top 100 fund about 18 months back and that Prashant Jain managed fund was loaded with PSUs

I did this mistake, I did months of research and picked axis bluechip fund sip but now we get news due to higher aum its stucked and not even beating benchmark. Similar things happened to sbi bluechip earlier. Now actually i feel Nifty fifty or next fifty index are far better. We need to stop trusting market and these AMCs blindly
