I have been following the Cards since 1954 when I was 9 years old. I am 66 now. I saw Musial many times and he never disappointed. He was all they said he was. My dad often went to Stan and Biggies (a restaurant) after games and Stan would always show up and table hop. He eventually knew my name. Once before game I was with friends and said hi to him on the field. He said hi and addressed me by name. I never forgot it. You could have knocked my friends over with a feather.

RIP Mr. Musial, thank you for the time I got to spent with you and for the stories, and thank you for treating me, as an 18 year old kid, with respect . I remember every conversation we ever had..

I leaned up against a concrete post behind home plate at Busch Memorial Stadium and leaning on the opposite side was Stan Musial. I was about 12 years old and too scared to go over and shake his hand even though he was originally my very first baseball idol. I still regret not going around and saying hello to Stan the Man.

im 13 and i know how great stan musial was. I read that he went to his back yard with his friends and well you probably know his family was not very rich almost completely opposite well anyways he went to the back of his house and he would get sticks and walnusts and they would hit the walnuts and stan was the only one who could hit them. i think stan musial is the greatest ball player of all time him and rogers hornsby most people diagree. but i think so :^)

The baseball legends from the '40s, '50s and '60s are leaving us, and even though some lived into their eighties and beyond, it is still too soon. Who is going to fill their shoes? Well, wait a minute; Derek Jeter is pretty darned close.

No, sorry.I'm sure he is a good man. I was always sure to leave him alone because of his celebrity. He has a reputation for being a man of the people and ultimately approachable. Many of the stories regarding those traits are no doubt true, but they also reflect times when people were watching. A definition of character comes to mind: "...how you treat those that can do nothing for you." I know this, no matter how basic the deed; someone serving me deserves my gaze, a smile, or a 'thank you'.

Worked at a hardware store in St.L before going to medical school, just a quiet college student. Stan came in disguised often. He ordered a bunch of bird seed. I would carry it to his car after putting his order together. I never bothered him. He never said a word, he would pop his hatch, hop behind the wheel, not so much as a 'thanks kid'. It's great when the camera is on, but a personal touch with one that is insignificant is my measure of a person. Stan was just a man, not the man.
