I loved watching him on TV around 1950 (I was nine). My mother laughed at his imitation of Maria Ouspenskaya, which hadn't changed fifty years later.

Built his legacy from scratch on a bale of of wire and blasting caps, and it was a lotta buncha cra... cra... a buncha cra... a lotta... NO! Walter Lantz! No-account son of a bus driver. He is not only the right hand man, but also the left hand man. He is the short man, he is the tall man. From one man to another, He is no man whatsoever. Ya got that, shorty? **Bad breath**

Jack Carter....such a legend. Growing up, I knew him as one of my dad's favorite stand-ups. That's all I knew him from. Doing spots on variety shows, doing cleaned up versions (obviously) of his nightclub act. That was all I knew him from. He'd always turn up somewhere. It gave me something to look forward to - that I'd catch him in something by chance.

The role of Arthur Spooner in The King of Queens was originally played by Jack Carter, but only in the pilot episode. The pilot was later reshot when Jerry Stiller was hired for the role. I think Jack Carter could have been great in that role, but we'll never know.

11:35 - KVED? A New York station with call letters beginning with K? I know that the call signs of a few Eastern stations began with a K, the most notable example being KYW. But I didn't know that New York ever had a K station.

comedian Buddy Hackett mentioned Jack Carter on the Tonight Show (with Johnny Carson); not on Late Night with David Letterman, on NBC (not the Late Show on CBS). Milton Berle ("Uncle Miltie"), Jack Benny, Groucho Marx, George Burns (the guy with the cigar), Red Buttons (I have never heard of this guy, just another Red, as in Red Skeleton), Bob Hope - all of them are legends.

One of my very favorite memories is of running into Jack on the street. Anyone who is familiar with Jack can guess what that was like.

I use to see Jack Carter shopping at the Kroger in Culver City all the time the year was about 2003. One time he was yelling at his wife loudly

Watching Tattletales with Jack and Roxanne was not enjoyable. Roxanne was great but Jack did nothing but put her down throughout the show. Whether the question was for Jack or Roxanne, it was (in his mind) Always her fault. He came across as a big baby who needed to be praised. Awful man!

Joking about race =/= being racist, or most black comedians would be in trouble
@pnomis3 жыл бұрын
@@Sernival I didn't say it because he joked about race. His stuff about the Mexican winning the lottery was racist. Don't you think so?
@jordantorres98923 жыл бұрын
The impression was a weak, but he's not wrong. Mexicans are incredibly hardworking. My grandfather is in his 80's yet refuses to retire. I will say, the punchline could've used an alternative setup. It was funny without a racial juxtaposition.
