@@triptwo425 some of it is cuz he's white and the rest is just cuz the internet has the same cycle of hate. at one point a rapper is on the rise and loved by everybody, but then once they reach the top, alla sudden a hate wave comes outta nowhere. like when polo g was dropping hit after hit and everybody loved him, then everybody started saying "all his songs sound the same" and calling him "piano g". they been saying similar things bout lil baby recently too. it's just the internet being the internet unfortunately. if only everybody just went back to being geniune.

The worst vice in the world is *Advice* lmao but only when it’s unasked for. If someone is thinking stop with the advice while in therapy they seem to not understand what therapy is. Isn’t the point of therapy to get outside perspective and advice on living/thinking/coping things like that or is that just me and my preconceived notions?

therapy is mainly to make you bring out the answers, they're specifically trying not to give you the answers, they're just trying to guide you to it

@@zackmackin1131 That’s kinda what advice is though isn’t it? It’s not telling them to do something it’s giving them another path they can take like a guide would. When I’ve asked Tom for advice for example when my mom passed he didn’t tell me *this* is what I should do, need to do or have to do he just offered me a different perspective and possible paths I could take that could help deal with the grief or techniques that could help like when I was anxious and worried about going to a concert like event again. I appreciate the reply these are just my opinions I’d say humble but I’m not very humble 🤣🤣🤣

@@davidgessin-mccully3919 therapists don't tell you how you should feel and what actions you should take though, most of the time they're saying as little as possible to try and get you to just talk because sometimes that's enough for you to come to a realisation. they're asking questions, not really giving much advice

@@zackmackin1131 I don’t understand what you mean. That sounds like if a therapist offers a technique or a way to cope better and more healthily they’re doing something wrong since it’s trying to change behavior and tells you things to try instead of asking how you feel about your mother. There is a whole branch of psychology that focuses on nothing but changing behavior and thinking it’s called CBT Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I think we believe differently about Psychiatrists, Psychologists and Therapists. Therapists aren’t psychologists, psychologists are therapists but not psychiatrists and psychiatrists are both but who focuses on medicine. Either way Tom And Nick rock

Neither of you are wrong, I think maybe you are speaking past each other a little? There's different types of therapy and the interaction between therapist and client can definitely differ. I think what what one of y'all meant about not giving advice was more about how therapists shouldn't bulldoze the client and try to make them conform to ideas they have about the client or their situation - not about giving helpful "homework"/coping mechanisms that help the client work towards a goal that they have *agreed* to work towards together. That's how I see it anyway, as a social worker. Our role is fairly different in the country I live in, and I feel like us SWs give a lot more sort of concrete advice than therapists tend to do (i.e. how to handle finances, how to find housing, how to apply for benefits, etc.). But while we give advice, there's still a very strong idea within social work that I agree with, that we shouldn't dictate what our clients' life *should* look like. Does this make sense?
