I think what Jack Ma was trying to say, as shown by his example of a human racing against a car, is that the car runs on something else, and a human runs on legs. Therefore, you should not try to race against a car, as much as you shouldn't try to beat a computer at calculations. These are tools that humans have invented, such as a car, or a machine. In other words, inventing a printer doesn't mean that artists are at risk, cause that printer just "paints" so quickly and accurately, how could artists possibly compete? The problem here is that Jack compares AI to previously invented tools, not acknowledging that it operates differently.

A lot of people missed what Jack Ma is trying to focus on. It’s true while A.I. can be/already « technically/intellectually » intelligent. But it will never be as innovative/impulsive as humans. Because humans create intelligence by mistakes/differences/evolution/response/communication. Sports games were created in order to replace wars. Remote controls were created because of the practicalness/« laziness « feeling. Different food recipes and its fusions were created because of differences. Language is an continuously living and evolving because of the continuous exchange between people. Arts and poems were created because of love, jealousy, boredom. These emotions were created in human bodies and will always be different. While in A.I. , it will be more uniform and less variable, (unless the creator decides to not to) - who are humans. A.I. can only solve existing problems now. But humans will keep on creating mistakes/problems, and this will lead a reaction to solve these problems.

As a Chinese i understand what jack ma means, he just can't speak it correctly in English so it doesn't make sense to you guys. But actually technology is just a tool and a very secondary thing for life. if we live life the way we are supposed to we need no technology, its going to happen soon. You may think may be we have to live like primitive humans if we have to live with out technology and that's like going back in time, old ways. But my point is that's not going to be the case and even if that is the case there is nothing like going back in time and living old way of primitive life. Life on Earth is timeless it is in this moment and every moment. There is nothing like old and new way of life. And also not to forget to build technologies there is lot of slavery that many many people are doing day and night, working working working...I think technology for itself is sometimes a problem.

Though realism and idealism may often clash with each other, this is what the society needs. Jack Ma believes it's not too late to save the world and we can act right now while Musk believes that we don't have much time and we need to find an alternative for survival. In all aspects, I support Jack Ma. Cause I also feel just like him. Why spend billions of dollars and wastes lots of precious years to make Mars a suitable place to live while we can save the earth?
