Dickey to Gregg after spending time with JP and the band considering hiring him."Either we're gonna hire him or I'm gonna ask him for lessons".True story.

Jack Pearson is one of the most underrated guitar players. He's got it all: Chops, imagination to no end, listens to the sidemen... plus he's got a voice he knows to adapt to any song he plays. Playing a cheapo Squire and sounding like this shows once again it's the player and not the guitar.

Rick Beato, do yourself a favor and interview JP. He is one of the most undisputed, unaffected and underrated musicians of our times.

Without Betts, none of these great songs would even be here to play. Kudos and applause to to Mr. Richard Betts for his contributions to Rock music. And especially thanks for In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed...

Jack Pearson's guitar playing is much like the river in the song. It just keeps on flowing. It don't worry about where it's going. It already knows where it's going; to the right place to sound great. His playing is very smooth, and he makes it appear so easy, and natural.

the beautiful warm singing sustaining tone he gets out of that single coil Squire, amazing. Love how he ends it with a little nod tag to Little Martha, brilliant.

Jack Pearson, he's not in it for all the attention he just loves the instrument and the art of it, unfortunately that can't be said about a lot of people.

Glad I clicked on this. It is spectacular. I have to admit though that I was hoping for High Falls when I read "obscure" in the title. Jack used to fly on that song during his brief time in the ABB. I would love to hear him play it again.

thought you could pay electric guitar ? If you listen to just 2 guitarist today it should Redd Volkaert on a telecaster and Jack Pearson on a stratocaster . Both very humble and masters at their craft .

Wow, OBSCURE is right. I've heard Blue Sky about one thousand times now. I mean, the Allman Brothers Band Dickey in solo bands probably only also played this a couple thousand times. Yes, this song is RARE, just NEVER PLAYED. Thanks for this rare oddity.
@mitchgawlik11756 жыл бұрын
Obscure? Where the hell have you been?

I've been to school and college, where I learned to read. See my reply from 10 months ago.

School and college. Dedicated to education. I get it now, you were being amusing. You got me good. While I'm here, I wasn't particularly impressed with Jack's self indulgent riffing. A good editing might wonders for this.

Blue Sky is not obscure unless you are unfamiliar with the Allman Bros band.
