I'm glad Jack covered this. I measured my chamber and found it to be a little longer than SAMMI spec and wondered if I could let my brass grow towards that dimension. Jack says nope.

I was thinking the same thing. I always figures as long as case doesn’t reach end of chamber I’m good.

I just use a bore scope to see the gap between a fired shot of brass and the end of the throat. Keep your brass the same so you don't have to worry about it sitting on a carbon ring.

Interesting, case thickness had practically no effect, but trimming cases made a world of difference? Harmonics must be more affected by length than powder pressure.
