Jack Thompson Classic Bikes Trial 2023 Part 1 Pit Walkaround

A quick walkaround before the event gets underway at the start of the 2023 Jack Thompson Trial. Taking part at Canada Heights, Swanley, Kent on Sunday 3rd December 2023, this was the 34th running of this pre-67 classic bikes. As always, smoothly run by the folk of the Sidcup & District Motorcycle Club.
So, whilst these bikes are unsullied by mud, slime and gunge, lets have a look at them. And if you want to see what these machines are capable of see Parts 2 & 3 - the event itself.

That last one! is it an Ariel Leader engine?

I can't speak with authority as I don't own it, but yes, I believe it is all Ariel Leader, which had that monocoque frame with the fuel tank within, and a 250 two-stroke engine. If you can imagine a Leader stripped of all the non-essential bodywork, this is what you'd be left with. It's featured in action on the Part 3 video of this event. Although most purists don't go for the sound of two-strokes, I for one think this makes a lovely noise.

@@NPMTrialsVideo The twostroke twin makes a very nice noice! I belive that the 250 Jarrow bike also sport an ariel leader engine. Its fun to se something different. Thank you for the very nice coverige of classic trials.
