John is the best interviewer I’ve ever seen. Merry Christmas to you and yours!!

Maybe the guy is good at keeping the guitars running but he clearly didn't know much about this one. It's the guitar that spawned Seven Nation Army, with only a brief cameo in It Might Get Loud, this being the first closeup, in depth video about it that I know of and that's all he could say/show about it? He even called it a semi-hollow, ffs.

Sometimes those old jazz guitars do have a center block
@handwriting880416 сағат бұрын
@@davidethridge5748right, yes, a semihollow electric guitar would. This is an archtop acoustic guitar with an aftermarket pickup stuck to it. No acoustic instrument would have a center block.
@Strongholle14 сағат бұрын
@@davidethridge5748 Which one? Cause other than Les Paul's the log and maybe some random concept by a lesser known luthier, I don't know of any full depth archtop with one. The 335 was the first semi in '58 and all semi's and thinlines tend to have a thinner body cause there isn't a reason to have a full depth body if you put a heavy piece of wood in the middle precisely to kill a big chunk of it's acoustic resonance. Plus this guitar is clearly a Kay N-2 with some wrapping paper stuck on the top. You can even kinda see the logo covered up by tape on the headstock and those were all 100% hollow.
@Strongholle14 сағат бұрын
@@handwriting8804 It's probably the original pickup. Old Kay's are sketchy like that and don't even have the wire go through the top. If it isn't, it's the same kind Valco pancake pickup an electric archtop would've come with.

@Strongholle I'm just saying I've worked on a Silvertone arch top Jazz Box and it had a center block.

I don't. Mine was total trash and I don't understand any nostalgia for them.

@grilledspaghetti I think it because it was my first guitar. They we junk action stinks sound is horrible. But it's just nostalgia

Pretty lame that Jack White feels like he’s too big to do his own rig rundown.

Sometimes they have radio appearances and such to do. They have schedules to meet.

@ yeah but in the description it says he shows up to pop his head in so he was there..

Very presumptuous of you. You don't know his schedule. They are at Third Man Record's, a business that Jack owns, maybe he's busy with that.

@@LicksoftheLegend He literally says in the video that he is running around doing stuff for his record company and apologizes for not being able to do the video. It wouldn't have mattered much anyway, as Dan is the one who helps build his pedalboards and guitars and probably knows the nitty-gritty more than Jack himself.

@@stt5994 something about a guy who sells pedals not explaining his rig doesn’t sit well with me. To each their own I suppose.
