Join us on an exciting journey to Carnegie Station for a remote mail run adventure! We pack up the family and head out for a 500KM round trip to collect our mail. Along the way, we enjoy a Sunday BBQ and catch up with our neighbors, Brendan and Jessie. Ant gets to test his Toyota Prado with its first river crossing, and we learn about Carnegie Station's tourism side, being the middle of the Gunbarrel Highway and the last fuel stop for a long way! Join us for some country hospitality, explore the Carnegie General Store, and even check out the working payphone! Don't miss this outback road trip filled with adventures!

Nice to meet up with the neighbours even if it's a 500k round trip, thanks for taking us along. The countryside is really looking green that's got to be good for the stock.

No underwear footage = successful creek crossings. Well done! It's super interesting to hear you talk about wildlife management and to see how things are done there. Many people don't want to discuss that but it is an important part of living in the wide open spaces.

The Prado is a great touring rig except for when the rear door gets stuck because of dust. Happened to me coming home from Milrose at Wiluna. Such a pain.

Why is the Prado not good for towing? If not, what is? Anyway, this is my first visit, but certainly not my last! Great video, great commentary - a tribute to all of you guys and gals who work our great Australian outback. Keep up the good work.

The danger with the Prado when towing is the weight of the vehicle, it tends to get pushed around by it's load, making it unstable. Cheers! Glad you're enjoying it 👍

@@jack_out_the_back Thanks, Jack - so what do you recommend? Are there heavier Toyotas?
@jack_out_the_back
@jack_out_the_back Жыл бұрын
@@warwickkinscher5986 for towing larger loads, a 200 series has enough weight to handle a lot, and the 79 series are good. These days people are carrying heavier Caravans and bigger horse floats.

Just watching this one again after being prompted in your last video. Did you really go the long way to Carnegie or go via the private road which would be much closer. (Or maybe that private road only exists on the Hema map?)
@jack_out_the_back
@jack_out_the_back Жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, we really did go the long way! The road through the middle is a station track that has a large section of un-maintained road between both the stations, add to that a significant amount of water on the road and running through the multiple creek crossings we had to pass and the logical thing to do was go around! 👍🏻
