G'day! Jack has headed down to the farm in Cascade for a few weeks while the station is too wet to get much done.
Join him as he picks up the tools for the first time in many years and helps get ready for seeding.

Jack, your skill set is amazing. From shooting, to WiFi connections, flying a plane, mustering, crop spraying, etcetera. You're an amazing guy. 👍👌

Good one Jack, “Jack out doing other stuff”. Good to get a detailed view of the spraying and brew up. Just spotted a good looking coloured Greyhound in the background near the end. We have a rescue one, traditional black with 4 white socks, white chest and tip of tail. Currently asleep on the couch next to me, and he takes up the whole couch so I am in the chair next to the couch😂. He has a very good life now.

Just read the ABC article and I think the smart farm is a fantastic idea. Would love to see my tax dollars going towards as many remote places becoming smart farms. Not just a government subsidy, a complete 100% government funded program. Its bloody great!

Really enjoyed this one Jack. It’s interesting to see how farms deal with the heat and salty sea air. The rain you had back at the station looked biblical. I assume that dozer will need a complete clean down underneath.

Good episode Jack, can you maybe spend some time detailing the thought process behind the two farms and the pros/cons of the current setup to get beef from paddock to plate? Obvs don't need $$$ values but your family's agribusiness philosophy would be interesting to a non-farmer like me..

It is best practice to start early and knock off early before it gets too hot for the chemical to work effectively.

I did not know that there was so much to spraying , When I was on the dairy farm my dad would get me clean and spray the channels with a hand pump nap sack spray (1960S). Worlds apart !

Always wondered what the reference to "the farm" meant when cattle were being trucked out in older videos.. This video explained it. Golly sorting out the chemical mix rate is complicated. Hope you didn't travel to far before realizing the camera had left the boom. Had to chuckle after it hit the grass and you found it. It will be interesting for you to hear what the girls think of actually being in a class room. Betting home schooling is better but not as fun. Is Danny holding down the fort at home? Thanks for taking the time to pull these videos together.

Jack, I watch your videos all the time. I really like them and I have 3 curiosities about 3 things: what brand is your plane. Would it be a super Cub? Another thing, what is the brand of your rifles, and what is their caliber. I'm a wild boar hunter here in Brazil. I'm a retired police officer here in the State of São Paulo, southeastern Brazil. THANKS!

Watching an Irish/Éireann farmer I learned fodder rape flowers are poisonous, something I never learned in the first 30 years of life living on farms and farming in Cornwall/Kernow. So are the flowers of OSR/Canola poisonous (too munching critters)? It would be weird for between Brussel sprouts, purple sprouting broccoli, cauliflower, Chinese mustard greens and rape oil, mustard seed, and more mustard seed the brassica flower head is inedible.
