Those early Jackaroos are legend - I have a 1986 one. I used a BJ40 landcruiser for years, but the heavy clutch and lack of power steering makes it hard work to drive, great for super difficult off-road tracks, but for most driving, even 4wDing the jackaroo is a good comfortable, capable car, not too big, so you can get around tracks, but still has plenty of room for camping gear etc.

Definitely looks pretty mint for a first gen roo. Love how you've picked something out of the ordinary to 4jj1 swap.

I had one of those. Took the back seats out and rigger up tower speakers in the back 😂 ghetto style. Best 4by I've ever owned

Looking forward to this. Been over 3 years since i started my 4j into GQ swap. I used the whole loom from headlights to tail lights and grafted in the gauge cluster to the dash. Be good to see some detail on your electrical hurdles.
